| In May, 2006, Popeye was found in the South Bronx, suffering from herpes virus as a result of an untreated upper respiratory infection. There was concern that his right eye would have to be removed. Over the months, Popeye made a slow recovery, gaining back limited eyesight and surgery was not necessary. This young boy was adopted in September, 2006 and is now known as "Pickles". |
